Job Description

The Assistant Grower Accountant supports the accurate management of grower financial accounts, settlements, and reconciliations while maintaining clear and professional communication with produce growers. This position assists with grower payables, advances, pooling arrangements, and the preparation of detailed grower statements to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial settlements. The role works closely with operations, sales, and finance teams to align production activity, sales results, and financial reporting in accordance with Five Crowns’ policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Grower Accounting & Settlements

·         Verify and approve invoices and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

·         Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and payment tracking.

·         Reconcile grower harvest costs by tracking, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

·         Communicate with vendors as needed to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.

·         Support day-to-day accounting operations and perform additional accounting tasks as required.

·         Calculate, analyze, and communicate yield data to internal teams and external partners.

·         Prepare specialized financial and operational reports as requested by Management.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Managements

Qualifications & Experience

Required

·         3–5 years of experience in produce sourcing, procurement, grower accounting, or related functions.

·         Working knowledge of fresh produce growing cycles, harvesting, packing, and seasonality.

·         Advance knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts.

·         Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

·         Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferred

·         Experience working directly with growers, shippers, or produce distributors.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.

·         Experience with Famous ERP software is a plus.

Physical & Work Requirements

·         Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.

·         Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons or month-end close when necessary.

·         Occasional evening or weekend work during high-volume periods.
